My Future.edu.au | Australian Government Department of Education
Year 2014 | Link: http://www.myfuture.edu.au/mycareerprofile
Problem and solutions: ‘myfuture’ is a joint initiative of the Australian, State and Territory governments. It offers 18,000 courses and 2,000 scholarships opportunities offered by Australian universities and training providers. Students use ‘my future’ to personalised their career exploration by completing questionnaires. The former questionnaires page was lengthy delaying results accumulations. As a solution, a User Profile displaying suggested occupations with a progress bar to track user progress has been designed.
Responsibilities: Based on ‘my future’ UX report I led the design enhancements work by paying attention to the user needs and goals. I involved in the production of wireframes and user interface for the final design. I aligned the new Career profile design with ‘my future’ current branding to maintain overall design's consistency. Accessibility and visibility for My Career Profile navigation was improved by applying colour-coded categories. Colours used were checked as WCAG 2.0 compliance. Icons for each category were created as visual cues to enhance user memorability. Other responsibilities include consultations with stakeholders and external UX agency.
Challenge and achievement: Outcome was well perceived by stakeholders besides the time limitation, resource and budget. Completed design tasks in 2.5 weeks. The design is currently being implemented. Improved design as shown below:

Asia Education Foundation (AEF) | Australian Government Department of Education
Year 2014 | http://www.asiaeducation.edu.au
Problem and solutions: The Asia Education Foundation (AEF) is a joint activity of Asialink at the University of Melbourne and Education Services Australia (ESA).
It receives core funding from the Australian Government Department of Education. The AEF website required a full redesign work to provide educators and Australian students with better experience to engage with Asia educational resources. UX methodology is used. Heuristic evaluation was implemented before design resumes.
Responsibilities: Working collaboratively with senior designer we have improved website experience and performance by applying User centred design and UX methodology. Performed heuristic reviews, design presentation and consultations with client. Tested the information architecture through mapping user journey activity with participants. Developed wireframes and walkthrough prototypes. Progressed into creating user interface design highlighting visual cues, call to action, usability and functionalities. I was also responsible to design sets of illustrations for the website. Other responsibility includes content structure, design presentation and fortnightly consultations with the client.
Challenge and achievement: With limited resources supplied the interface designs were completed within 4 months. Improved user experience of the website which aligned with the business and user goals and requirements. Website is currently up and running.

My Skills | Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education
Year 2014 | http://www.myskills.gov.au/
Problem and solutions: My Skills provides access to 5, 349 training locations and 18,000 links to courses offered by Australian Universities and training providers. The ‘Student outcomes by field of education’ resource page section in My Skills website contains text heavy information. It requires a container displaying the important information for easy viewing. As a solution information was grouped in categories for easy navigation. I used infographic approach to convey the information displayed from each category making it easy to see and navigate.
Responsibilities: Performed heuristic reviews. Produced information architecture. Designed infographic icons and progressed into interface design for the ‘Student outcomes by field of education’ to simplify the process of viewing results.
Challenge and achievement: Interpreting unclear brief was challenging which required working collaboratively with developer’s team. Work completed in a day and it is now being implemented. Improved designs are shown below:

Year 2014
Problem and solutions: The Great South Coast Medicare Local launched a campaign called LunchBox Blitz –Attack on Packaged Snacks component of the Healthy Great South Project. A set of teaching aid and workshop to promote healthy lunchbox is proposed to support this project emphasizing participatory design as a method for the outcome of this design proposal.
